The 2016 Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friendly Awards for England and Wales takes place next week on the 30th November at Church House, London. The awards recognise the efforts of individuals and organisations in making communities around the UK more dementia friendly.
The finalists have been announced ahead of the ceremony and we are very proud that two Welsh entries have made it through. Hannah Davies, whose dedication to improving the lives of those with dementia led to the creation of Dementia Friendly Swansea, is a finalist in the Inspiring Individual of the Year.

While the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust is a finalist of the Dementia Friendly Organisation of the Year in Health and Social Care. The Ambulance Trust were the first in Wales to give Dementia Friendly training to their staff, a scheme which has now been rolled out across the principality.

We wish all the finalists the very best of luck in the awards and we will keep you posted with the results!
