Invitation to share your views: Understanding the support needs for unpaid carers of people living with dementia during a pandemic

Swansea Univerity’s CADR (Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research) are looking for unpaid/family carers who have attended support groups for people with dementia (diagnosed or undiagnosed) in the Swansea area before the pandemic to take part in an interview to share their experiences of the closure of support groups such as Forget Me Not clubs, Musical Memories, or the Carers Centre Cwtch. The research has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee, College of Human and Health Sciences, Swansea University.

The interview is informal and will take no more than 45 minutes, and you will have the option to complete it via telephone or Zoom at a day and time that suits you. We are simply trying to capture your experience of and the impact the closure of such support groups has on individuals.

Your participation will be a valuable addition to our project, and we would appreciate your willingness to consider taking part in an interview.

Please take some time to read the ‘Participant Information Sheet’ available via this link Opportunities | Centre For Ageing & Dementia Research (cadr.cymru) The information sheet will offer you some further information about our project and the interview and if you are interested, we will be happy to send you some example questions for the interview for your consideration.

If you would like some more information about the interviews or are willing to participate, please contact us to discuss this further.
